The small household store, where there is just everything for daily use, now works with solar power.

The store is mainly open during the day and has a regular consumption for ceiling fans, lights and refrigerators. The electricity consumption during the day can be covered relatively easily by a solar system. Therefore, no battery is necessary.

The system consists of only two PV modules, each with a microinverter – it couldn’t be simpler. If the solar production is greater than the consumption, the surplus is simply fed into the grid, and conversely, what is not self-produced is drawn from the grid.

After a short time, the customer calls us. His bill is now higher than before! In fact, the electricity supplier’s new smart meters are so-called „tamper proof“. These meters always measure the energy as consumption, no matter in which direction the electricity flows. This means that the electricity fed back into the grid is also treated as consumption and charged by the utility! After some negotiations, the EW has at least installed an old meter, which only measures the effective consumption – but the feedback remains unremunerated.
