New solar system in Bimbilla improves power supply

The GfC mission in Bimbilla is delighted to have found a sustainable solution to its long-standing power supply problems. Since 9 February, a new solar system has been providing the mission with reliable electricity.

Over the past few years, Bimbilla’s electricity supply has become increasingly unreliable. The grid voltage dropped so much that even expensive voltage stabilisers could not help. Electrical appliances broke down, and the generator had to run for hours to provide water, resulting in high fuel consumption and noise pollution.

Now, the new solar system provides a stable power supply. Lights, water pumps, and even the air conditioning can be operated reliably. This is a huge benefit to the quality of life, especially in a region where outdoor temperatures can exceed 40°C.

The sun provides free energy, independent of grid fluctuations and rising electricity prices. The previous stabilisers can now be removed.
