2nd Designer Training, Tumu November 2018

Based on the existing installations, we go through the design process in detail.

The data from the ’survey‘ is entered into our Excel tool. In this way, typical daily patterns can be superimposed on the solar yield, and the size of the solar generator and the required battery capacity can be determined ‚constructively‘. But working with Excel is a skill. Each design student has been given his or her own laptop to practise on.

Once the optimal size of the solar generator and the battery capacity are known, the components can be dimensioned and matched: Number of PV modules, system type (grid connected or stand-alone), solar inverter, battery type and inverter.
